Date: December 9, 2009 (2nd Wednesday of the month)

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: Alfy's Pizza in Snohomish (On "D" Street)

Items for Discussion:

1. Information from DNR Public Meeting held on November 18, 2009 regarding Reiter

2. Any other New Business brought up.

3. Following the General Public Meeting there will be a meeting for "RTW Members Only" to:

(a) Approve the submitted By-Law Revision
(b) Elect RTW Officers for the year 2010

so I hope all RTW Members will attend.

Don't forget it is kind of nice to get here early and have a bite to eat before the Meeting gets under way. It is nice to support the provider of our "Free" meeting room who also provides a discount if you tell them your there for the RTW Meeting.

If I have over looked anything that should be here I will edit and add as I become aware of it.

For those that may be wondering, RTW does not normally hold a December General Meeting, but an exception has been made this year because of the things going on at Reiter at this time and we wish to assure any new information gets out to the interested people.

See you on Dec 9, 2009.

Seems like a pretty light agenda considering no one needs to attend the RTW meeting to learn about what takes place on the 18th...they can just go themsleves or wait for the email from the DNR...

How about putting pen to paper, or perhaps a brainstorming session, to figure out what the RTW has to do in order to expand and show some responablity/commitment to the community?

Good suggestion and food for thought. I only post the notice and what I know will be on the agenda, but there could well be more items and more could develop between now and Dec 9, 2009.

I will be happy to add anything to the above agenda list as directed by the RTW Officers, or they can add additional agenda items by posting in this thread.

This is not the time to be making excuses. It's the time to step up and actually start to get involved in something other than work parties and clean-ups. They were a good start 2 years ago...

Here's another, Charlie can give everyone an update as to his progress with new trail planning. A map showing the new area, planned trails, potential obstacles, etc...plus maybe he can share the various rules & regs regarding trail construction in a designated ORV area.

One more...

Is the RTW working on a group response for the public comments in regards to the Draft Plan?

Charlie is an RTW Member. It is also my understanding that at one time and maybe still, Charlie was planning to bid on the Trail Planner/Consultant Position when it was put out for bids.

This is the reason I believe that he has not and will not at this time release work he has accomplished in this area. I think you can understand that, I know I can.

As for the other points you are bring up Brad, I like them and hope they can be answered. I can not answer them as I am not an Officer of RTW and that is what it will take to answer some of the issues you have brought up.

Please keep in mind also that RTW is in a state of flux at this time with upcoming election of Officers, Completing a set of By-Laws and making final submissions for Incorporation as a Non-Profit Organization.

Yes All this stuff is hitting at the same time all the DNR Action regarding Reiter is and it is a very big plate full to juggle and keep all bases covered properly and is unfortunate, but reality.

So don't then.

You're in it for yourself and that's perfectly acceptable. At least your clear on it being your business.

State of flux? I'm sorry to point this out, but it seems the RTW has been in this state since it was created. Is there an end planned to this state any time soon so that something constructive can happen?

I have been wheeling Reiter for years and attended clean ups but never a meeting. I want to put both feet forward to do everything I possibly can to keep Reiter around for years to come. Is a meeting where a newb like myself should start?

Guys and girls,

I had just noticed on an other thread that the meeting is going to start at 6:pm in order to have elections first, there is NOTHING here about this.

We need to due something about this, NOW,

That other thread is most likely the one for Voting Members of RTW only, so it does not need to be here as the regaular meeting will start at the normal time as stated in the first posting of this thread.

according to my notes from the last meeting the rtw members only meeting was for after the original meeting.
we will also need to address the by laws.
I will be bringing copies of the by laws for review by all members.

Hi All:

Well, it makes for a long evening, but I think it works better to have the "members only" meeting at 8pm than 6pm.

What is the consensus on this?

Alan

we are going in circles about this. it is being discussed here ad in the round table. this post was about date time and location. I think we should keep the agenda in the other thread, this way people dont get confused.

Can't disagree with you Rick about keeping the discussion in one thread!

Hey gang!

It looks like you have plenty to cover on this months agenda. I will not be coming to your meeting.

A couple things for you to keep in mind:

We will be setting up a Forest Watch Patrol at Reiter soon. Participation will be open to anyone who wants to apply, but I would definately like to have at least 2-3 RTW members a part of this. This is going to be a smaller program that we can build upon in the future when we have an operating recreation area. Please figure out who RTW would like to represent. There will be an email with specifics sent out soon.

I have been busy developing an inventory of resource damage that has occurred at Reiter over the years. This will in some way or another help identify where our priority restoration projects will be. I need to work with DFW, Ecology, and Tribes, but I anticipate some large work projects getting started in January/February. We are probably going to have a public workshop in January to get the public involved in developing those priority projects and begin scheduling the work. Look forward to more information soon.

It is looking as if there are some union constraints on hiring a consultant for trail planning. We are not sure at this point in time what that is going to mean for us. It may mean that we develop a trail plan "in-house". I will try and share info regarding this as soon as it is known.

Thanks,

David Way
Reiter Foothills Recreation Manager

How about you bring the whiteboard. That's a start.

Whiteboard is in my trunk, it requires two screws (included) to hang it. I doubt Alfy's would have much of a problem with it if we "donate" it to their room but we we should ask 1st.

I think a white board would be a great added feature to the meeting when needed. thanks for offering it up Brad.

One agenda item to consider (I apologize if this is already done) is to select a couple of RTW members to be recommended as members of the DNR Reiter ORV Advisory Committee.

Even though David has not gotten the official go-ahead on forming the Reiter ORV Advisory Committee, the more pieces he has in place, the quicker he can get the ball rolling.

WOHVA has submitted the name of one person to represent them and the NMA is planning to do the same soon.

Starting January we will have a constant platform to work off of...

Hi All:

I doubt Alfy's is gonna let us mount something on their wall for us to use once a month.

I think I can borrow an easel to support the whiteboard, but perhaps RTW should purchase an easel and whiteboard for meetings, training sessions, etc.
