The trails should all be marked by then and so come and walk the trails. I recommend not coming in shorts for this
Also I know we will have a small list of chores that DNR will need to get done
More to come on this soon
Very cool. Will post it other places.
Thanks Charlie!

August 7 Work Party
On Saturday, August 7, join other volunteers for our regular work party. Some of the projects will include:
• Fine tuning proposed trail locations for the motorized trail system
• Clearing brush from the proposed motorized trail routes so they are more accessible for those wanting to walk them.
Work parties start at 9:30 a.m. and go until 3 p.m. or until we run out of projects for the day. Meet at the Reiter gravel parking area outside of Gold Bar on Reiter Road.
Progress Report
At the July 18 work party, about a dozen volunteers came out to Reiter. They continued working on preliminary trail layout in the motorcycle and quad areas. Volunteers also brushed several preliminary trail locations for 4x4s to provide easy access for the DNR and consultant design team.
DNR met with the Snohomish County Planning Department to begin the county permitting process for construction of the motorized trailhead and trails. We identified the required county permits and discussed the permitting process.
On July 20-21, DNR staff, volunteers, and the technical consultant worked on the proposed 4x4 trails, preparing for design work that will include special features such as rock crawling trails. We also reviewed some of the locations with our biologist to ensure wildlife habitat issues are addressed.
On July 28-29, teams of DNR staff and volunteers finished the preliminary field layout of the ATV and single track (motorcycle) trails. Some specialist (geologist, engineer) review was done, and we identified other areas needing a specialist review.
This week we submitted the application materials for the restoration and non-motorized trail development grants to the Recreation and Conservation Office. I’ll let you know how we do on these applications. Thanks to those of you who wrote letters in support of these grant applications!
The July 28 focus group meeting discussion centered on the permit process and the priority order in which to phase in construction of motorized trails.
What’s Next
Next week—beginning August 2—we will continue trail design work and collect additional data that is needed. The consultant design work will include a set of specifications to be used in building the 4x4 trails and developing the final detailed trail plan. The trail designs are much like blueprints for a home building project. The designs include information about surfacing, profiles, clearing specs, drainage, water-crossing bridges, and construction specs for any buildings such as outhouses.
We are continuing work on developing the State Environmental Protection Act (SEPA) documents and preparation for county permits.
The next focus group meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 25. The meeting will focus on motorized trail development. For more information, contact Candace Johnson at 360-854-2803 or candace.johnson@dnr.wa.gov.

It will be Sunday the 15th. David just confirmed that date and he will be on vacation but said we can work on more trail brushing that day as well as trash pickup of the area.
