Hi All:

Sounds like the LEOs need to get busy up there!

For the matter, seems like this "Forest Watch" program for Reiter needs to get started sooner rather then later!!

Regards,

Alan

A new take on an old saying:

When they outlaw wheeling...only outlaws will wheel

Ya gotta be kidding me. Getting that rig removed right after it was hauled out should not have been an issue.

And I am with rick here..

I think I may start taking random trips up there to see whats going on.
I Talked to David today and he said it doesn't look like much activity has been up there but rumor seem to be that people are still wheeling up there.

Those pictures on the chreokee forum is proof positive that people are still wheelin up there and when you stay on route 2 in monroe on a given weekend afternoon you WILL see off-road vehicles with much mud on them heading west.

The problem is people think that since Reiter is closed that they have been "outlawed" even though there are other legal places to go. I'm with Rick that we may need to start making random trips up there to patrol.

It might be time to break out my surveilance gear and start catching these guys.

you guys seem shocked about Rieter still being used? I am still heading out to Rieter at least once a week and I see and speak to at least one person wheeling every time I am out there... I tell them the place is closed they act surprised and they leave... You seem like your going to catch someone in this super secret activity when we should just be out letting people know the place is closed and that they should move on nothing more nothing less...

But keep in mind I am not driving around out at rieter I am usually walking my dogs many many miles out there, when I do go, so I am far off the roads back on cable, sackup and so on, you wouldn't normally see them just by driving the FS roads.

I don't see how anyone can "act" surprised as there are signs at all entrances right? I think the warning is signage which is pretty clear. Have you seen people riding bikes and quads or just wheelers? Just curious as I have heard some talk on the bike forum of people acting like they are above the law and won't get caught since they are far from the road where they go.

The shocked part was sarcastic on my part but yes the first words usually are "I didn't see any signs"...

I say fresh bike tracks today well they were there since the last rain which was earlier this week but they could be Ron for all I know.

I saw 3 rigs out there today just a couple stockers and lots of dirt tire tracks coming out of the main parking lot but most of the tracks I saw today where non aggresive tires all main/easy roads under the powerlines...
